MISSION

My practice is dedicated to providing children, teens and adults with the finest quality orthodontic treatment in a professional and friendly environment. My team delivers care with the latest advances, a high degree of detail, and personal attention for each patient. Our goal is to create good health and beautiful esthetics with the best possible dental and facial orthodontic outcomes.

HISTORY OF THE PRACTICE

My practice was started a century ago in the early 1920s by Dr. Herbert Margolis, one of the leading orthodontists of the 20th century. Dr. Margolis created Tufts University's first orthodontic residency program, served as the founding professor and chair of orthodontics at Boston University's new dental school, and was elected President of the American Academy of Dental Science. His clinical research received international acclaim.

In 1968, Dr. Margolis recruited his protege residents, brothers Drs. Harvey and Sheldon Peck, to take over his thriving Boston orthodontic practice. Soon they introduced a satellite office in Newton. Drs. Peck and Peck conducted famous research on facial esthetics and published articles that are considered classics in the orthodontic literature. Dr. Sheldon Peck is highly regarded for his excellence in patient treatment and service, over 100 scientific publications, and over 100 lectures in the United States and internationally. The American Board of Orthodontics awarded him its highest honor, the Albert H. Ketcham Memorial Award, in 2017.

I joined Dr. Sheldon Peck and his wife, Dr. Leena Peck, in the practice in Newton in 2001. I am a graduate with honors of Boston University's Goldman School of Dental Medicine and the University of Oulu, Finland, Institute of Dentistry. I was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and received the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration Award, among other recognitions. I have practiced at Massachusetts General Hospital as a member of its clinical faculty and am a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, and Finnish Dental Association. I proudly carry on a one hundred year tradition of world-class orthodontic care in my Newton Centre practice.
